KIHEI Today Kihei is a destination of choice for visitors who want to spend time on Maui without emptying their pocketbooks. The beaches and ocean are a magnet, and visitors can find lodging of every imaginable type. Increasingly, repeat visitors, drawn to Maui’s spectacular sunsets and magical weather, are buying condos and including them in the vacation rental pool. If you’d like to see what is currently available for purchase check out Kihei condominiums under $600,000 or those priced a little higher. If you prefer, there are single family homes also widely available. Spectacular sandy beaches run from Sugar Beach at the north end through popular Kamaole I, II and III to Keawakapu Beach at the South end. And from each there are views of Kaho‘olawe, Molokini, Lana’i and West Maui. If shopping is high on your list, shopping malls of varying sizes abound. Azeka Place, in the center of town, has over 50 shops and restaurants; the Piilani Village Shopping Center includes Safeway (grocery chain), a large Hilo Hattie store, a food mall, Outback Steakhouse, Roy’s restaurant and more. |
